About Lime

So the idea to do something with limes came about when me and the wife wanted to make a few cocktails which required the little lime, the fridge was full of limes for about 2 weeks and everyday I opened the fridge and looked at these limes thinking what can we do with these as obviously we weren’t making cocktails every night.

I knew I wanted to do a set of images to tell some kind of story but based around what, baking, cooking or in a drink.

A quick google of “famous cocktails with lime” brought me to the classic daiquiri and the idea flowed on from that.

The initial image of 12 untouched limes, then an image where one lime has been squeezed for something and then the final “hurrah” image of the cocktail along with some of the ingredients and paraphernalia used to make it.

For the lighting I wanted a 2pm bright sunny day summer vibe so shadows not too long but hard.

both image 1 and 2 are a single image but the cocktail image was composed of three images, everything but the foliage shadow is captured at the same time and then a single image where I added a juice droplet falling from the juicer, you probably didn’t see it as it almost blends in.

Various mirrors and bounce cards used to shape the light where I wanted it.
